Alice Bullitt, Manager of Programming, has been at Bryn Mawr Film Institute since July 2005. In 2002, she received a B.A. in English from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and an M.A. in English Literature and Film Studies from California’s Claremont Graduate University in 2005.
Alice curates BMFI’s Cinematheque, a weekly film program that takes place every Wednesday evening at 7:00pm, comprised of retrospective film series on specific subjects and directors, film festival screenings, academic film lectures, one-time screenings of new releases with filmmaker Q&A, and many other culturally stimulating events. She is also the chief moderator of Open Screen Mondays and weeknight post-film discussions. Alice has also taught a course for BMFI’s Film Education program called From Page to Screen: The Literary Adaptation.
Alice’s special areas of interest include melodrama, feminist criticism, and adaptation theory, and she is a great admirer of the work of Brian De Palma and Judd Apatow. |
