Facility Rental
BMFI currently has two spacious theaters seating 310 and 350. These theaters offer an optimal space for large audience screenings, corporate meetings, product launches, seminars, and training sessions using DVD, other digital, internet, or computer-driven (Power Point, etc) projection, in addition to 35mm films.
You can combine your in-theater program with the rental of our Multimedia Room
to host a reception before or after your event. Please review the list of BMFI's
Under certain circumstances, the atrium is available for private use when both theaters are rented to the same party, or when the rental occurs during certain daytime hours.
For more information about rental of the theaters and Multimedia Room complete and submit the Rental Information Request Form and the appropriate person from BMFI will contact you.
Rental Rates Theaters Theater availability is limited. Box-office and concession revenues can be allocated between client and BMFI as negotiated. BMFI reserves the right to quote different rates than listed. |

Q: What type of events can I hold in the theaters?
A: Our theaters are ideal for large audience screenings, corporate meetings,
product launches, seminars, and trainings.
Q: Can the renter sell their own tickets?
A: The renter may handle all ticket sales, choose the ticket price, and keep all
the revenue by paying BMFI a flat rental fee.
Q: Can BMFI sell the tickets?
A: No. BMFI is not responsible for ticket sales for private theater rentals.
Q: Can a renter provide their own food and beverages for an event?
A: We provide a full concession stand of popcorn, candy, healthy snacks, and beverages.
In addition, if you rent the entire theater you may arrange for an approved caterer
to provide other food.Please review the list of BMFI's
Q: Does BMFI offer any specials on bulk popcorn, candy, and theater
concessions?
A: Yes. We can offer the renter pre-paid theater concession vouchers.

Rental rates for both theaters are the same.
Q: Can I show a film that is no longer a current release?
A: Most films are available for theatrical screenings, and we can research your
title for a booking fee. You will be responsible for the licensing fees and all
shipping costs of the print. This is a perfect opportunity to show your favorite
film for a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion. Typical rental/licensing
fees for a 35mm title average $500 and for DVD films $250. (These prices are
subject to change.)
Q: Can I have a private screening of a current release currently playing at BMFI
for my friends?
A: Yes. Rates will vary according to the time of day. Please call Valerie Temple

Q: Does BMFI have faculty who can assist me in preparing a program?
A: Yes. Bryn Mawr Film Institute education faculty can offer assistance in
choosing a film that would best fit your event needs. They are also able to
offer informative and interesting lectures on an array of film topics for an
additional fee.
Q: Do you have assisted hearing devices?
A: Yes we do. They are available free-of-charge at the concession stand.
Q: Where do you park the day and night of a screening?
A: There is ample parking located directly behind the theater. After 5 p.m.
weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday, parking anywhere around or behind the
theater and in the surrounding office building lots is permitted.
Q: Can I have a private event in the atrium?
A: Under special circumstances, the atrium is available for private use when
both theaters are rented to the same party; or when the rental occurs during
certain daytime hours.
Q: What type of equipment is available to screen my film?
A: Both theaters are equipped with digital video projection and 35mm film
projection. Theater 2 is equipped with VHS and Power Point. Neither theater is
able to project in Mini-DVD, Digi-Beta, or Beta SP; however, if you would like
to rent the equipment to run this type of format, our theaters are able to
support the equipment.
Q: Are there times when the theaters are not available for rentals?
A: Yes. The theater can not be rented on Friday and Saturday nights or Sunday late
afternoon and evenings.
Q: Are there special rates if I would like to purchase a block of tickets?
A: Yes.

Q. What type of events can I hold in the multimedia room (MMR)?
A: This versatile space can be used for film lectures and classes, club and
committee meetings, adult birthday parties, cocktail receptions and elegant
dinners—just use your imagination! The room is tastefully furnished with
sleek tables and chairs. The floor to ceiling glass can be either closed off
with blackout screens for maximum privacy and optimal screening conditions, or
left open to an over-the-railings view into the historic two-story atrium.
Q: How many people will the MMR hold?
A: The room will hold 100 people for a cocktail reception, 65-80 for a sit-down
meal or meeting, and 60 for a screening.
Q: Can renters provide their own food for an event in the MMR?
A: We work with several local caterers to ensure that your event menu will fit
your needs. BMFI is also a BYOB facility, however, no red wine or heavily
colored cocktails can be served. Please review the list of BMFI's

Q: What type of A/V equipment is available for use in the MMR?
A: This facility is fully equipped with state-of-the-art, high-definition
digital projection and digital sound for DVDs, VHS, PowerPoint, web-based media,
and can be adapted for additional formats. Wireless internet completes the media
package.
Q: Is there additional cost for audio/visual equipment?
A: There is an additional cost of $150 required for the A/V technician. Under no
circumstances is the renting party allowed to operate the A/V equipment
themselves without an approved technician.
Q: What type of furnishings and accessories does BMFI provide?
A: At no additional cost: 10 six foot tables, 2 round tables, 80 chairs, a
lectern, flip chart, easels, and coat racks. Table linens are available at an
additional cost.
Q: Does BMFI have staff who can assist me in preparing a program?
A: Yes. Bryn Mawr Film Institute educational faculty will can assist you in
choosing a film that would best fit your event needs. They are able to offer
informative and interesting lectures on an array of film topics for an
additional fee.
Q: Where can my events guests park?
A: Free parking is available behind the theater, accessible from Bryn Mawr
Avenue.
