Mozart – Conducted by Bertrand de Billy and directed by Claus Guth at the Salzburg Festival - Starring Christopher Maltman, Erwin Schrott, Dorothea Röschmann – 3 hr 20 min
Composer Charles Gounod praised this opera buffa, based on the legend of Don Juan, as “a work without blemish, of uninterrupted perfection.” This production gives Mozart’s masterpiece a surreal treatment, thanks to inventive staging by director Claus Guth and set designer Christian Schmidt.

This classical production of Rigoletto, one of Verdi’s most beloved operas, earned rave reviews at this year’s Verdi Festival in Parma. Master baritone Leo Nucci’s haunting performance as the title character steals the show, and no wonder–he’s performed the role over 400 times.
