Theater Rental - Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What type of events can I hold in the theaters?
A: Our theaters offer an optimal space for large audience screenings, corporate meetings, product launches, seminars, and trainings.
Q: Can the renter sell their own tickets?
A: The renter may handle all ticket sales, choose the ticket price, and keep all the revenue by paying BMFI a flat rental fee.
Q: Can BMFI sell the tickets?
A: No. BMFI is not responsible for ticket sales for private theater rentals.
Q: Can a renter provide their own food and beverages for an event?
A: While we do not allow people to bring in their own food to the theater, we do provide a full concession stand of popcorn, candy, healthy snacks, and beverages.
Q: Does BMFI offer any specials on bulk popcorn, candy, and theater concessions?
A: YES! We can offer the renter pre-paid theater concession vouchers.
Q: How many people do your theaters seat?
A: Theater capacities are:
Theater #1 - 310
Theater #2 – 350
Rental rates for both theaters are the same.
Q: Can I show a film that is no longer a current release?
A: Most films are available for theatrical screenings, and we can research your title for a booking fee. You will be responsible for the licensing fees and all shipping costs of the print. This is a perfect opportunity to show your favorite film for a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion. Typical rental/licensing fees for a 35mm title average $500 and for DVD films $250. (These prices are subject to change.)
Q: Can I have a private screening of a current release currently playing at BMFI for my friends?
A: Yes. Rates will vary according to the time of day. Please call Alice Bullitt (610) 527-4007 ext. 109 for more information.
Q: Does BMFI have faculty who can assist me in preparing a program?
A: Yes! Bryn Mawr Film Institute educational faculty will offer assistance in choosing a film that would best fit your event needs. They are able to offer informative and interesting lectures on an array of film topics for an additional fee.
Q: Do you have assisted hearing devices?
A: Yes we do. They are available free of charge at the concession stand.
Q: Where do you park the day and night of a screening?
A: Free parking is available behind the theater.
Q: Can I have a private event in the atrium?
A: Under special circumstances the atrium is available for private use when both theaters are rented to the same party; or when the rental occurs during certain daytime hours.
Q: What type of equipment is available to screen my film?
A: Both theaters are equipped with digital video projection and 35mm film projection. Theater #2 is equipped with VHS and Power Point. Neither theater is able to project in Mini-DVD, Digi-Beta, or Beta SP; however if you would like to rent the equipment to run this type of format, our theaters are able to support the equipment.
Q: Is there any times when the theaters are not available for rentals?
A: Yes. The theater cannot be rented on Friday and Saturday nights.
Q: Are there special rates if I would like to purchase a block of tickets? A: Yes. |
